Black Guards

So the new Dark Elf tank came out to public a few days ago. As far as what its counterpart is, its essentially an Ironbreaker. However, the Hatred that it builds is not like the Grudge that the Ironbreaker has. Instead of just getting these expendable points when hit, they also get them when they hit their target. Meaning that they can unlock their more powerful attacks faster.

Another thing about them is that they have a special path that ONLY Black Guards do. They have a path that is specific to killing healers and mages. Meaning that a Black Guard can be spec'd for Tanking, DPS, or mage/healer killing.

Along with their ability to wield a sword and shield, they can use a spear to dish out a lot of DPS. I personally am going to try a DPS build of this class to see how that functions. Seeing how we have chosen and black orcs doing most of the tanking already, I figure why not. And so far, I'm liking the build. At lvl 14, I'm getting a little above adv. DPS in the scenarios. At lvl 11 I was topping the charts.

So...Black Guards...I like them.

Well the Dark Elfs in the lore of the game are the most feared faction, even above Chaos. I did a quest on the chaos side and decided to read the lore, and just so happens that in the quest, even the chaos leaders fear the Dark Elfs. Said something like "...even we fear our darker brothers along with our kin. For without (Chaos leaders name Teznich or whatever) blessing, not even we would be safe from their slavers."

But it makes sense, the Dark Elfs have the highest DPS classes in the game. Got the Sorceress, Witch Elf, Disciple of Khain (highest DPS healer in game) and now the Black Guard (Highest DPS tank in game). So they went along with most of the "Drow lore" thats gone around and incorporated it into their universe and the game.
